Sample Answer
DNP and Ph.D. scope of nursing is different as DNP nurses are practice-oriented and they utilize Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to enhance the delivery of high-quality patient care and patient outcomes. On the other hand, Ph.D. nursing focuses on nursing research and training nurses on how to improve nursing science by creating theories, original research, and academic work. DNP nurses have access to various career and professional options as they bridge the gap between knowledge generation and research for the purposes of improving healthcare (Bal, 2023). Nurses with this qualification are usually academic leaders in different faculties in institutions of high learning. On the other hand, Ph.D. nurses can act as educators in nursing research, they guide nurses in care delivery and participate in refining research methodology.
DNP nurses work in various clinical settings treat patients, promote health, and prevent disease in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to enhance health outcomes. On the other hand, PhD nurses majorly occupy the nursing researcher positions. Nursing researchers have exceptional skills in planning and executing research projects to support the EBP and improve nursing knowledge. A nurse with a Ph.D. works in interdisciplinary settings together with professionals from the fields of public health, psychology, and medicine to examine the challenges in healthcare. They are in charge of formulating multidisciplinary research initiatives, analyzing data, and disseminating the research findings (Berg, 2022). DNP nurses utilize their leadership to collaborate with pharmacists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive treatment to patients while attempting to close the gap between patient care and health management. All the nurses with advanced degrees are leaders in both community and clinical settings and they collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
