Discuss how elimination complexities can affect the lives of patients and their families.
Elimination complexities diminish the ability of the body to eliminate metabolic waste and this causes the patient some discomfort. The complexities affect the patient as it limits the social activities that the patient can engage in as they cannot interact with others effectively. Treatment of elimination complexities affects the patients and the families economically as a lot of resources are utilized in the management of the condition (Sharma & Bhutta, 2020). The complexities affect the family and patient psychologically as stress is encountered in the management of the condition.
Discuss the nurse's role in supporting the patient's psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Nurses provide holistic care to patients that meet their psychological, spiritual, and emotional needs. Nurses appeal to the physical needs of the patients experiencing elimination complexities by changing the patient's linen often to eliminate any discomfort. Spiritually, nurses appeal to the needs of the patients by encouraging them and inviting spiritual leaders to preach to the patient (Morton & Thurman, 2023). Nurses appeal to the psychological and emotional needs of the patients by spending time listening to the patients. By effectively executing these roles, nurses can eliminate the physical, social, emotional, and psychological problems that are faced by the patients experiencing elimination problems together with their families. The care provided by nurses in these three levels must be compassionate and should address the emotional needs of the patients. Additionally, care provision at these levels should respect the dignity and privacy of the patients.

One of the "Statement on the Integration of Faith and Work" is that nurses should work selflessly with the knowledge that they have to provide highly autonomous care to the patients. Care provision to the patients gives nurses an opportunity to fulfill God's command to serve humanity.
