Sample Answer

Describe an organizational change model that can be used in a dynamic health care environment.

One of the organizational models that can be utilized in the dynamic healthcare environment is Lewin's change model. According to Kurt Lewin, the restraining forces influence the behaviors of individuals and groups and decide the fate of the organization. The three major stages of the change model are unfreezing, change, and refreezing. In the unfreezing stage, the model deals with the perception of the individuals and it prepares all the stakeholders for the changes in the organization (Mind Tools Content Team, n.d.). It is essential for change leaders to engage in actions that improve the preparedness of the company and create a sense of urgency. Stage 2 of change disrupts the status quo for change implementation. This stage uses an iterative and agile approach that considers the feedback of the employees in introducing changes. The final stage; refreeze involves employees moving from the transition stage toward achieving acceptance and stabilization (Mind Tools Content Team, n.d.).

Based on this model, how is organizational change is managed?

Lewin's change model achieves organizational change by identifying the need for establishing changes in the organization. It does so by recognizing the organization's current state and the need to create a sustainable change. The model develops a plan of change that is highly structured and effective for change implementation. This model implements change through the execution of the planned strategies. This ensures that the changes in the organization are accepted and implemented by the appropriate staff members (Beasley et al., 2020). Additionally, this model sustains change by ensuring that the changes become a part of the entire organizational culture.

What role do stakeholders play during organizational change?

Stakeholders in an organization play an important role in change implementation. The stakeholders in an organization can be classified into internal and external stakeholders. Examples of internal stakeholders in the project are managers and employees and external stakeholders are families and patients. Stakeholders support change in the organization by understanding why change is important and actively participating in the change process. Additionally, stakeholders provide valuable feedback that is necessary for change implementation and adapting new ways of creating successful changes.
