Mammography as Prevention
Mammograms are low-dose breast x-rays that find cancer early, reducing the need for aggressive treatment like mastectomy and chemotherapy. 3D mammography is more efficient, has lower callback rates, and is especially helpful for women with dense breasts (ACS, 2024).
EHR Integration for Equity
EHRs increase communication with cancer patients, improve healthcare access, enhance genetic testing through treatment algorithms, and assess modifiable risk factors contributing to disparities in underserved communities (Bayard et al., 2022).
